Principal Role :
This service is the first point of contact for the public, councillors, schools and other agencies for matters of transport policy. It produces the Council’s Local Transport Strategy and contributes to other regional and national strategies. The service prioritises and monitors the 5 year capital works programme and budget for Technical Services and maintains the standing list of contractors and consultants. Any firm who carries out construction or maintenance work for the Council must be on this list. Finally, the service has a commissioning role for internal and external consultancy for the department.
