Transforming Children's Services
Transforming Children’s Services (TCS) is a very significant project focused on improving the services provided to children,
young people and their families. These service are provide by two departments within the Council: Education & Lifelong Learning
and Social Work Services.
The TCS project was undertaken through five separate work packages (see below) and an overview report has been produced to bring together all aspects of this very important and exciting project into one overview report. The comprehensive Overview report provides a snapshot of current services, outlines the challenges we face and the building blocks for improvement, with proposals for changes to our services that will greatly enhance the quality of services we provide to children, young people and their families. We would urge you to consider this report and the proposals from the project very carefully.
We are now launching a public engagement process to listen to your views on the proposals. As part of this we are arranging public open meetings across the Borders to give parents and members of our communities the opportunity to ask questions and talk to staff from both departments on aspects of the project and its recommendations. You can attend whichever meeting is most convenient for you. Separate meetings will also be arranged for our staff and special interest/user groups.
