Meetings of  Scottish Borders Council, its Committees and sub-committees are usually open to the public, who are welcome to attend and listen to the debate. The dates, times and venues of forthcoming meetings can be found at the Council Papers section of the website along with copies of agendas, public reports and minutes of meetings.

Alternatvely, you can contact Corporate Resources to obtain copies of the papers for any of these meetings.

Venue of Public meetings:

Meetings will usually be held at Council Headquarters in Newtown St Boswells (unless stated otherwise).

Area Committee Meetings - Usual Venues:

  • Berwickshire Area Committee - Duns Council Chamber (note - venue may be subject to change: contact Christine Watson on 01361 882600 Ext 6014)
  • Eildon Area Committee - Council Chamber, Council Offices, Galashiels: contact Jackie Wilson on 01896 754751 Ext: 2725)
  • Tweeddale Area Committee - Council Chamber, Rosetta Road, Peebles, (note - venue may be subject to change: contact Kathleen Mason on 01721 720153 Ext 6412
  • Cheviot Area Committee venue usually alternates from month to month between Jedburgh (The Town Hall, Abbey Place, Jedburgh) and Kelso (either at The Town House or The Tait Hall, Kelso).  For more information contact Alan Niven on 01450 375991 Ext 4732
  • Teviot & Liddesdale Area Committee, The Committee Room, Council Offices, High Street, Hawick (note - the venue may be subject to change, please contact Alan Niven on 01450 375991 Ext 4732
