If you want to speak to someone for consumer advice, please contact Consumer Direct Scotland (external website) in the first instance. Consumer Direct Scotland is a national telephone helpline and online service providing advice and information on consumer problems. It aims to inform you of the possible pitfalls you face in buying goods and services and equip you with the information you need to avoid them in the future. It offers advice over the phone, and backup via e-mail and the web about buying goods and services, on how to find reputable traders, avoid trading scams and report them when they do happen.
Consumer Direct can be reached on 08454 04 05 06 and are open from 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday and from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays.
