Friends Groups

 

Friends of the Library Groups

There are a number of Friends of the Library Groups throughout the region. Friends groups meet informally to promote the library in any way possible and new members are always welcome. Activities vary within each group but generally they hold talks, run booksales and fundraise for specific items for the library. e.g.Peebles Friends Group fund raise to fund the annual binding costs of local newspapers.

Friends of Eyemouth Library

Meet in Eyemouth Library around 6 times a year.

Friends of Duns Library

Meetings are usually held monthly with a break during the summer.
From 5:30pm - 7:00pm in Duns Library. Everyone welcome.

Friends of Galashiels Library

Friends of Hawick Library

Friends of Hawick Library are always looking for more people to join their small group.  They work towards assisting the Library through fundraising and events.  Activities include organising booksales and events, committee work and fundraising.

Meetings are held by arrangement, in Hawick Library, monthly on Tuesday evenings at 7pm.

Anyone is welcome to join Friends of Hawick Library - life membership is only £1.  For further information please contact Hawick Library on 01450 372637.

Friends of Kelso Library

Friends of Kelso Library are a small enthusiastic group who support Kelso Library with time, skills and energy. They can provide facilities, which would other wise not be available.

Since Friends formed at the end of March 2005 they have been very busy. With the support of Alasdair Hutton, local councillor and Convener of Scottish Borders Council they have hosted a number of author events More details....
