Library Services to Schools
- The Schools Library Service is based at Scottish Borders Library HQ, forming part of the department providing services to children, young people and schools
- The Project Loan collection provides a service to primary schools: teachers can request a box of resources to support the curriculum. Resources covering a wide range of topics are held, including a new collection to support Eco-schools. These resources are mainly books, with a limited selection of posters, CD-Roms and videos. The boxes are delivered and collected by the service wherever possible at the beginning and end of each term, although this cannot be guaranteed
- Resources for nursery and pre-school groups, including picture and story books, are also available.
- Staff are happy to advise on Primary School Library and Reader Development
- Each Secondary School has a School Library Resource Centre run by a professional librarian, which serves the school community
