Essential Information
"Everything on my webpages is information I use in presentations in schools all over the Borders. Before these pages went live, the content was approved by senior officers in Education department and Lothian & Borders Police.
If you contact me via email, the only answers that I will give are straight police answers and I will not enter into personal opinion. There may be a time when I have to take something that is said to me further i.e. if someone discloses something serious. As a police officer, you have to be aware that I have a duty to investigate where someone may be at risk or harm.

Child Protection
All adults have a duty to protect children and young people and make sure that they are not coming to any harm. This means that if information given on this website suggests that you or any other child is at risk of abuse of any type (physical, emotional, sexual) this would mean this would need to be investigated by the police and social work officers.
You also have to be aware that the computer you use can be traced if necessary, so if you don't give your name - I will be able to investigate further and trace someone who I feel may be at risk.
I should also point out that it is a criminal offence to waste police time and this is a matter that is taken very seriously indeed".
