A new approach to care

Tuesday, October 14 2008

The public will get a chance to hear about the proposed new extra care housing development at Dovecot Road in Peebles at an information event at the Gytes Leisure Centre on Wednesday 29 October from 3pm-7pm.

Members of the public are welcome to go along and find out about the planned service, which will replace the service currently provided at Dunwhinny Lodge, Scottish Borders Council’s care home for older people.

The aim of the event is to give people a chance to hear the background to the project and to see the progress made so far. They will also have an opportunity to ask the project group about the new model of care and the building design.

Councillor David Raw, Executive Member for Social Work, said: “This is a very exciting scheme for Peebles and we want everyone with an interest to come along and see for themselves what this new approach to care can offer.”
