Joining in the celebrations were local athletes supported by the Council’s athlete support programme.
Councillor Garvie said: “We are very proud of our athletes here in the Borders who have gone on to compete at the highest level possible. Their dedication and hard work is admirable and they are great role models for our upcoming athletes who are hoping to compete at future Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games.”
Councillor Hutton added: “It’s a marvellous achievement for these athletes to have been chosen to represent their country at the Olympics and Paralympics. These athletes have made the Borders proud. They are an inspiration to everyone around them.”
